The symptoms of common cold and flu?
Acute upper respiratory tract viral infections (URTIs) is the scientific name for what most people call ‘a common cold’. Children can suffer up to 10 colds per year and adults up to 5 colds per year. Symptoms may appear between 1 and 3 days after exposure to and infection with the virus and typically begin with a sore or scratchy throat.
Sore throats usually resolve on their own within a few days and blocked, stuffy or runny nose predominate by day 2 or 3. Other symptoms, such as fever, aches and pains and headache are usually mild. These signals help to distinguish the common cold from influenza.
